Music Editor Hannah Gadd reviews Baby Queen’s exciting new single

Baby Queen is back!

‘Ride Or Die’ marks Baby Queen (Bella Latham)’s first release since her debut album Quarter Life Crisis. The track itself was meant to feature on the record but Latham felt it didn’t quite fit with the remaining songs on the album. ‘Ride Or Die’ offers us a new sonic, independent from Latham’s previous releases, holding an exciting insight into what is next for the singer.

Animated synths dance through the verses as Latham details a complex romantic situation

Light and airy vocals open the track accompanied by simple piano chords before an electric drum beat kicks in. Animated synths dance through the verses as Latham details a complex romantic situation. Her vocal delivery is different from what we have heard from her before, taking a gentler approach sounding both subdued and confident. The track is subdued in comparison to her previous work but this direction is immensely vibey and really compliments her voice.

‘Ride Or Die’ is a great R&B-pop fusion track and a taste of what else Baby Queen can do. The single is a solid release whilst we wait for her next project and I’m interested to see where she goes next with her music.
