Editor-in-Chief Tamara Greatrix reviews Daisy Peacock’s first-ever headline show.
I was lucky enough to see Daisy Peacock’s first headline show a few weeks ago, and wow was she fun! Daisy’s show was exactly how she described it to me in our interview; it was exciting, flirty and unserious. She had the entire room laughing, dancing and singing – a huge feat for an artist who only began releasing music 3 years ago.

She follows in the footsteps of her contemporaries and self-proclaimed inspirations Alessi Rose and Olivia Rodrigo, as she documents the ups and downs of relationships and womanhood.
If you ask her? Well, she describes her songs as ‘about your failed situationship,’ effortlessly capturing the distinctive rage that comes not with a breakup, but being left undefined. Her songs are not just sonically enjoyable, but tragically relatable to most 20-somethings as she seamlessly moves between anger and vulnerability. The concert was hugely successful, so much so, you would hardly believe Daisy is her own manager. The event was largely promoted on social media, with a little help from TikTok livestreams, and ironically, it was on one of these late-night livestreams that I stumbled across Daisy’s music myself! The merch stand was manned by Daisy’s Mum and Dad, and the door was managed by a friend of the band. Upon entering the venue, everybody was offered free sweets and raffle tickets, which was a unique and thoughtful touch. The raffle prize was the chance to win a signed drum skin or a tote bag filled with merchandise, which was a generous way for Daisy to give back to the people that had come out to support her and her band.
Speaking of her band, the strong bonds the bandmates have formed during rehearsals was evident. The support network between the bandmates (and their families and friends) was so tightly knit; whether it be guitarist Tom ready to help tune a guitar, or Daisy’s pianist ready to fill in a quiet interlude with a beautiful rendition of the Titanic theme tune, they all looked out for one another.

It was such a fun show, as Daisy had promised. Her energy was electric, and she was bouncing around the stage, pouring every bit of herself into her performance. My personal favourite songs from the night were her latest release ‘The Middle,’ and ‘Girlbestfriend,’ but the entire show was exciting start to finish. It was undoubtedly a huge step towards making her dreams of being a performer a reality; the young musician reflected that she was playing songs she ‘never thought [she] would at [her] first headline show.’ For this reason, it was a particularly touching moment when the crowd (me included) got their torches out for ‘How to be Lonely,’ and everyone came together, mostly to sing, but maybe also cry a little.
Things were upbeat for the show’s finale, with a ‘Womanizer’ cover which sent the crowd wild and showed Daisy’s versatility. Daisy finished the show with ‘Girlbestfriend,’ a standout ending for a truly dazzling gig. I will certainly be attending another Daisy Peacock gig soon, and you should too!
