After teasing everyone for ages, Lana Del Rey has officially announced that she is bringing out her seventh album, Chemtrails Over The Country Club, on the 19th of March 2021. She has now released the title track from her upcoming album, ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club.’ The single is traditionally Del Rey – a characteristically dreamy song.

The single is traditionally Del Rey – a characteristically dreamy song

The track feels very like Del Rey. It is cinematic in its backing and is very atmospheric with the orchestral elements you can hear in the background; this perfectly complements her emotive and captivating voice. The sparse and moody styling of the single is something that she is known for within the music industry. It has a calming atmosphere that seems to encapsulate her style perfectly. It is aesthetically pleasing to the listener as you disappear into listening to her voice. The music video perfectly complements the aesthetic of this single, vintage and visually stunning and glamorous.

There is lyrical imagery that is also aesthetically pleasing to the listener. It can be said that this could set the grounds for the upcoming album release. But Lana Del Rey is known for her lyrical genius. ‘We laugh about nothing as the summer gets cool,’ is one of the best lines from the song in my opinion, it perfectly accompanies the decadence of Del Rey’s style. It is a very poetically penned tune that is certainly a good vibe to listen to. Her vocals also show her sheer range and power, starting in the lower register and then gradually changing to her upper register. It shows that she has versatility in her voice.

To me, this can be viewed as one of the strongest singles Lana Del Rey has released in a few years. It is a beautiful single that is musically wonderful to listen to.

Rating: 9/10
